The mounted bearing unit is a bearing unit which combines the spherical outside surface ball bearing, seal, and a housing of high-grade cast iron or pressed steel. It features a variety of structure patterns, & is suitable for application under tough conditions.

The outer surface of the bearing and the internal surface of the housing are spherical, so that the unit is self-aligning. Set-screw locking is most popular method of mounting to the shaft. Adapter sleeve and eccentric locking collar are also available. For service under more severe operating conditions, Bearing units with cast iron covers and pressed steel covers and or in plastic available as standard types.

The covers are constructed in such a way as to guarantee even eventual substitution of rubber seals with common felt rings. There are also closed covers used in applications where the shaft does not pass.

The outside diameter of the self-contained bear -ring's ground spherical to match corresponding spherical inside diameter of the housing provide self-alignment between these two parts, which compensates for misalignments of the units resulting from errors in mounting and distortion of the foundation.

The performance and reliability of rolling bearings are greatly affected by the materials which the bearing components are made from
bearing rings and balls are made of high quality of Gcr15 (100cr6) - type of bearing steel and the chemical composition
is shown as below.

Most of ball bearing cages are made of cold rolled steel sheet. And for some bearing types and special applications, cages are
made of glass fiber reinforced nylon 66 plastic, phenolic or machined brass.
The material of bearing housings is gray or ductile cast iron, housings can also be made of pressed steel, stainless steel,
or engineering plastic for special purposes, deepding on application and or customer's requirment.

uses gray cast iron as the standard material for cast iron housings. Among metallic mateial cast iron has a high
damping capacity, which is an ideal characteristic for mechancial components. This means cast iron, exhibits superior performance
when absorbing vibration, compared with other materials. Additionally cast iron is suitable for high temperatures of up to 300C°

The bearing units are all grease lubricated and are basically to be relubricated. The grease injected from the grease fitting by means of grease gun flows into the bearing chamber passing through grease groove in the housing & grease hole in the bearing outer ring. For relubrication, it is recommended to supply the grease during operation of Bearing units so as to avoid excessive greasing. As the bearings are to be operated for rather long time without supplement of grease, the grease must be of high quality.
When selecting the grease, care must be taken not to use improper grease as there are various types of grease available by mixing mineral oil and metallic scoap base according to the application purpose.
